Cine Talkies 2026

Theme — Cinema: Kal, Aaj aur Kal

Theme Exposition

This edition of Cine Talkies 2026 is being organized at a pivotal moment when the technology world in general and the entertainment industry in particular are confronted with the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The rapid expansion of AI opens up immense possibilities, while simultaneously raising critical creative and ethical questions. Alongside technological shifts, timeless dilemmas persist within our sector.

While blockbusters like Kantara Chapter 1, Chhava, Saiyaara, Coolie, Mahaavtaar Narsimha, Lokaah Chapter 1: Chandra, They Call Him OG, L2 Empuran, Dashavtar, and Dhurandhar redefined box-office milestones, other well-crafted films faced commercial hurdles.

Core Burning Questions

  • 🤖 Rise of AI: How will artificial intelligence reshape narrative craft, VFX, and employment in Bharatiya Cinema?
  • 🎭 Movies vs Propaganda: Examining the boundary between authentic artistic voice and ideological narratives.
  • 🧸 Children's Cinema: The success of animated epics like Mahaavtar Narsimha sparks the question: Why are children's films not being made anymore?
  • 🔍 Society & Screen: Are films a reflection of society, or does society reflect the screen? (Focusing on independent cinema like Home Bound).
